Abstract: Canadian Forces (cf) members are often referred to as tactical athletes ill and injured members are not different. Joint Task Force (jtf) Nijmegen, a rigorous and prestigious four-day marching event requires military participants to cover 160 kilometres, carrying at least 10 kilograms on their backs. A team of injured and ill cf members, the Soldier On team, trained for months developing the physical and mental stamina to meet the demands and selection for jtf Nijmegen 2012. cf Physical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Programs collected clinical data to identify trends that predict success and to measure progress in both physical and mental domains during this ground-breaking initiative. Clinical findings from this pilot initiative will be discussed.
