Reconsidering the uniform: existential and religious identity reconstruction among Swedes after military service
This longitudinal study has followed nineteen Swedish service members as they have transitioned from military to civilian life and grappled with their own questions of losing profound military identities, communities, meanings, and purposes in life, in addition to exploring alternate cultural identities. The findings present existential, implicit religious and spiritual ways of reconsidering the uniform through new and/or preexisting identities.
