The Green Road Project: A Healing Garden for America's Veterans

Abstract: Naval Support Activity Bethesda is home to the US's largest facility for care and rehabilitation of wounded warriors: Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.  In direct support to the healing process employed at Walter Reed, The Institute for Integrative Health, has transformed a woodland into a healing garden called the “Green Road” Project. Today, the Green Road is a 1.6-acre urban parkland offering a natural healing environment for those who have returned from war.
