Abstract: Funded by the Forces in Mind Trust, the Sanctions, Support and Service Leavers project represents the first substantive qualitative research in the UK to focus specifcally on the experiences of veterans within the social security benefts system. Central to our project was the desire to establish an original evidence base to inform current and future policy and practice in relation to those veterans and their families trying to navigate a system undergoing signifcant reform.
