Abstract:Commissioned by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust, this 2019 report—compiled by Northumbria University’s Northern Hub for Veterans and Military Families Research as part of the Map of Need project—provides an evidence-based geographic and demographic profile of Scotland’s veteran community. It analyses military pension and compensation recipient data (2017), covering various categories (e.g., disability pensioners, war widows/ers), and conducts spatial mapping to locate clusters of financial hardship across service branches and regions. The findings inform targeting and policy planning for veteran support in Scotland.
