Abstract:This mixed-methods evaluation conducted by the Directory of Social Change assesses the impact of the Families in Stress and Removing Barriers to Family Life programmes, which collectively awarded over £11 million across 84 projects between 2016 and 2020. Through the analysis of grant data, surveys of grant-holding organisations, and illustrative case studies, the report demonstrates how funded projects fostered support networks, improved wellbeing, addressed issues such as bereavement, isolation, and domestic challenges, and adapted effectively during the COVID-19 pandemic to continue delivering value to Armed Forces families across the UK.
