The mediation effect of posttraumatic perception between self-esteem and PTSD among student Veterans

Abstract: The mediation effect of posttraumatic perception between self-esteem and PTSD severity among college student veterans (N = 64) were investigated. The results of the investigation indicated a significant relationship between self-esteem and PTSD severity. The total effect between self-esteem and PTSD severity showed a statistically significant relationship. Additionally, the investigation affirmed that self-esteem among student veterans was directly and negatively related to posttraumatic perception. Implications for college counseling with veterans are discussed.
