Highly variable reporting of incidental findings in a national cohort of US veterans screened for lung cancer

Abstract: Many incidental findings found in VA patients’ lung cancer screening CT scans were not labeled with the “S” modifier. Across VA medical centers, there was considerable variation in use of the “S” modifier. Educating providers about the recent ACR guidance for the management of incidental findings may help improve consistency.
