Abstract: The article explores the participation of Veterans Affairs Medical Centers (VAMCs) in AmericaServes, a coordinated care network aimed at addressing the health-related social needs of military and Veteran communities. Through interviews and analysis, the study categorizes VAMC participation levels in AmericaServes as networking, coordinating, cooperating, or collaborating, with barriers such as navigating VA bureaucracy and gaining leadership buy-in. The research suggests that Veterans may benefit from increased VAMC participation, with higher referral resolution rates in regions where VAMCs are more fully engaged in AmericaServes. The findings aim to guide future efforts to enhance collaboration between VAMCs and coordinated care networks for the benefit of Veterans.
