Abstract: This perspective piece begins with a look at the contribution of social science research to military culture change. The discussion emphasizes that military culture(s) can have different impacts on those who have limited representation and power in the culture. As a result, particular attention needs to be given to the perspectives and experiences that contribute to how we think about research. It matters who, and how people who will be impacted by the research, participate in it, from the initial design to the sharing of research results both within and outside the military.
