Abstract: The article examines the use of Complementary Health Approaches (CHA) among U.S. veterans from 2002 to 2022, with a focus on prevalence and sex-stratified analysis. The study found that CHA use among veterans has increased over time, with females initially having higher baseline use but males experiencing higher relative increases. Mind-body approaches like yoga and guided imagery saw significant relative changes, while manipulative therapies like massage therapy also showed notable increases. The findings may inform veteran outreach, engagement, referral, and care practices, highlighting the importance of gender-sensitive strategies in promoting and supporting these approaches.
