Abstract: The purpose of this phenomenological study was to understand the dissemination of information given to terminally and chronically ill older adult veterans. These veterans are of a particular demographic population and not always included in the research already conducted. Employing interviews, the study explored whether 10 older adult veterans received relevant information from the VA and knew how to utilize it. During the exploration of this topic, it was noted that many individuals within this demographic were either not receiving the information or did not know how to access it. Four themes emerged from the findings that explained why older veterans do not receive information: technology and navigation of information, VA appointment preferences, age discrimination, and being unfamiliar with priority groups. These themes allowed veterans to articulate their own perspectives on information dissemination and its personal impact. The collective insights from the interviews further inform the VA’s understanding and implementation strategies, helping to identify more effective ways to support this population moving forward.
