Virtual group clinics improve self-reported long COVID symptoms among Veterans: Results from a holistic care approach

Abstract:Long COVID (LC), has created unprecedented challenges for health care systems. This condition, characterized by multiorgan symptoms lasting beyond 12 weeks after initial infection, affects approximately 10% to 26% of COVID-19 survivors, resulting in significant disability, symptom burden, and reduced quality of life. Telehealth emerged as a promising solution during the COVID-19 pandemic, offering advantages in accessibility and cost-effectiveness. Virtual visits may be particularly valuable for patients with LC, who often experience fatigue that makes in-person visits challenging. The group format provides opportunities for shared learning and mutual support among participants facing similar challenges. This study aimed to assess patient satisfaction and impact of a structured group virtual program designed to offer an integrative health approach to patients at the Miami VA Healthcare System.
