Abstract:This special edition on measurement-based care (MBC) highlights that, despite the strong evidence base, MBC has not been consistently adopted or sustained in routine practice. The challenge is particularly pressing in military and Veteran health care, where rates of mental health and substance use disorders (SUDs) are high, and concerns remain about the adequacy and timeliness of care. Greater implementation of MBC in these settings offers the opportunity to improve outcomes for service members and Veterans, as well as the opportunity to enhance efficiency of care delivery.
